Juventus sign Paredes on loan deal from PSG

Hull City striker Nick Proschwitz has joined Brentford on a free transfer after two years with the Premier League side.

The 27-year-old German arrives at Griffin Park on a one-year contract with an option for a further two seasons after failing to become a first-team regular at Hull.

Proschwitz joined the KC Stadium outfit from German club Paderborn in 2012, but found opportunities scarce, making just five league starts for Steve Bruce s men.

He spent the second half of last season on loan at Barnsley, scoring four goals in 14 Championship appearances, and Brentford boss Mark Warburton is looking forward to seeing his new man in action.

Espanyol have sacked Quique Sanchez Flores after a poor run in LaLiga.

The experienced manager who previously had spells in charge of Atletico Madrid and Valencia in Spain, as well as Watford in the Premier League led the club to an eighth-place finish in LaLiga last year.

However, they ve struggled in 2017-18, managing just eight victories in the league to sit 16th in the table, just eight points above the relegation zone with five games to play.

Newly-promoted Hull City have been dealt a major blow with the news full-back Moses Odubajo has been ruled out for up to six months with a knee injury.

Odubajo ruptured his medial patellofemoral ligament during the pre-season friendly at nearby Grimsby Town last week and subsequent tests have revealed the extent of the damage.

German international defender Philipp Lahm is free to leave Bavarian giants Bayern Munich after the club announced on Tuesday that talks over his contract extension have broken down.

Talks between Bayern and Philipp Lahm over the extension of his contract which expires on June 30, 2009 have been inconclusive, the club said.

As a result, Bayern have withdrawn the offer of a contract extension.

The 24-year-old had indicated recently he would remain with the club and that it was only a matter of days before the deal was done.

But he told the weekly news magazine Stern on Tuesday that it was possible that he would leave the Bavarian club this summer.
